If you are tired of the same old hummus here is a great alternative.
In this recipe I am using white beans instead of classic chickpeas. Beans are another legume option for creamy dips, they are excellent sources of vegetarian protein, slow-digesting carbohydrates, fiber and micronutrients.
Add some steamed carrots for extra flavors, texture and antioxidants.
I like to spice up my hummus with turmeric, this golden spice that is known for its various medicinal properties. Turmeric actually contains different compounds, called curcuminoids, and among which curcumin is the main active one. Curcumin has powerful anti-inflammatory effects and is also a very strong antioxidant.
250g of canned White Beans
2 table spoons of Extra virgin olive oil
Turmeric, Salt, Pepper
Steam the carrots.
Place the beans, carrots and olive oil in a food processor.
Mix untill smooth, you can add the water from beans to get even creamier texture.
Add the turmeric, salt and pepper according to your taste.
Enjoy with vegetable sticks or crackers.
